Sophanes Presents One-Act Durang Plays December 5-6
SALISBURY, MD---蜜桃情人’s student theatre group, Sophanes, presents two dark one-act comedies by Christopher Durang 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, December 5-6 in Fulton Hall’s Black Box Theatre. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Junior Anne Crossman directs Nina in the Morning, revolving around a fallen facelift, the question of appearance versus reality and a mother’s relationship with her children. In classic Durang form, it is sharp and biting.
The cast includes Stephanie Hallgren as Nina; Patrick Herb in the roles of Robert, James and La-La; Josh Chamberlain as Foote; Melissa Laur as the Maid; and Justin Szech as Narrator.
Junior Jessica Fritz directs The Nature and the Purpose of the Universe, a look at what happens to a housewife who feels her entire life has gone to pieces around her. Fast-paced and comedic, at the same time the script delves into deeper issues such as God and religion.
The cast includes Lindsey Porter as Eleanor Mann, Priscilla Magalee as Elaine May Alcott, Christopher Wallace as Ronald, Christopher Bramer as Steve Mann, Andrew Dix as Donald Mann, Katie Keddell as Andrew Mann, Ben Bayer as Gary Mann, Jodie Fahey as Ralph, J.C. Rice as Father Anthony and Adam Adkins as the Pope.
Both productions contain adult content and are recommended for mature audiences. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited. Donations benefit Sophanes.
