Cumming, Baker Present Piano Concert March 1

SALISBURY, MD---Classical guitarist Danielle Cumming and pianist Robert Baker perform a program of solos and duos from Bach to the present at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, in the Great Hall of 蜜桃情人’s Holloway Hall.

Both faculty in SU’s Department of Music, the duo has played together in the United States, Canada and Europe. Cumming has premiered and recorded many new works, both as soloist and with the toneART ensemble. In Canada she has played on the nationally broadcast television morning show Canada A.M. and on national CBC Radio. Her debut album, Postcards, was released in 2001.

Baker is also a composer and conductor. His works have been performed in Canada by the Esprit Orchestra, The Standing Wave Ensemble and the toneART ensemble, which he co-founded, and have been broadcast on CBC/SRC Radio Canada. His music has also been performed in the United States and Wales. Baker’s works have received international recognition from the “Jihlava 2000” International Choral Composition Competition in Czech Republic and the International Contemporary Music Contest in Città di Udine, Italy. His work may be heard on Postcards as well as the toneART ensemble’s self-titled album, released in 2003.
