蜜桃情人 Art Department faculty and students recently participated in operating the department’s blast furnace, melting over 1,000 pounds of iron for student sculpture projects. The furnace, known as a cupola, was built in 2015 by Bill Wolff, associate professor of sculpture, with student help. This semester, it was relocated from behind Fulton Hall to the University’s new 3-D arts building off Milford Street in 蜜桃情人. Based on a late 19th-century industrial design, the cupola can tap 100 pounds of iron every 15 minutes at a temperature of more 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit.
