French Hornist Miller Joins SSO For ‘Horn for the Holidays’

Man with french hornSALISBURY, MD---French hornist Gregory Miller joins the ÃÛÌÒÇéÈË Symphony Orchestra (SSO) at ÃÛÌÒÇéÈË for the concert “Horn for the Holidays” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 7, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

Directed by Dr. Jeffrey Schoyen, the performance includes Mozart’s “Horn Concerto No. 1 in D Major” and “Horn Concerto No. 3 in E Flat Major,” H.C. Lumbye’s “Copenhagen Stream Railway Galop,” “Concert Suite” from The Polar Express and “Three Dances” from The Nutcracker.

Miller has performed in 25 foreign countries spanning five continents in addition to all 48 continental U.S. states. He has played in nearly every major concert hall in the world including Carnegie Hall, the Mozarteum, Suntory Hall, Tokyo Opera City, the Barbican and more.

As a clinician, Miller has served on the faculties of the Tanglewood Institute, Pacific Music Festival, Bowdoin Music Festival, Festivale de Musica de Queretaro and Melbourne International Brass Festival, among others. He also has two solo CDs on the MSR label From Bach to Bernstein and Solos for the Horn Player.

Admission is $25, $20 for seniors age 60 and older, $10 for SU faculty and staff, and $5 for students. Advance tickets are available online at the and at the Guerrieri Student Union Information Desk.
