Bio

Dr. Robinson is professor and former chair of the Department of Political Science (2009-2015) at ÃÛÌÒÇéÈË. He earned a B.A. degree from the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park (1986), an M.A. in International Studies from the University of South Carolina (1991), and a PhD in Political Studies, with a specialization in Middle East Studies, from the University of Utah (1998). His teaching interests include Middle East Politics, Security Studies, Political Violence, and International Political Economy. Since arriving at ÃÛÌÒÇéÈË Dr. Robinson has created and added three new courses to the permanent curriculum: War and Peace in the Middle East (POSC 213); Comparative Politics of the Middle East (POSC 313); and International Political Economy (POSC 413). In addition he and SU Professor Emeritus Greg Cashman created and added the department's POSC 408 course: Political Violence and Terrorism.
