Graduation vs. Commencement
- Graduation is the conferral of the academic degree after all course and degree requirements are complete. 蜜桃情人 (SU) offers degree conferrals after the end of each semester/term: Spring (May), Summer (August), Fall (December), Winter (January).
- Graduation applications are due the semester before the student expects to graduate. This will initiate the pre-audit process and add the student's name to the commencement listings. A final graduation audit is conducted after the completion of their last semester.
- 蜜桃情人 apply for graduation in GullNet under the Academic Tile and then Apply for Graduation.
- Commencement (or Grad Walk) is the ceremony to celebrate students’ accomplishments and anticipated graduation. SU offers two commencement exercises each year, one in May and one in December. Winter (January) graduates and Spring (May) graduation candidates are included in the May ceremony. Summer (August) graduates and Fall (December) graduation candidates are included in the December ceremony. Visit the Commencement website to learn about the ceremony.

Latin Honors
The student’s eligibility for graduation with Latin Honors is determined by the honors standards in place at the time the student graduates.
Recognition of graduation with honors at the commencement ceremonies is based on the student’s cumulative grade point average at the end of the previous grading period. 蜜桃情人 recognized at the ceremony may or may not ultimately earn graduation with honors. The official recognition of graduation with honors is based on the student’s final grades and appears on the student’s official transcript and diploma.

Diplomas
A final review of degree requirements is conducted after semester grades are submitted, therefore, not all degrees will be posted at the same time. Once complete, a “Degree Awarded” statement will appear at the top of the student’s unofficial transcript in GullNet. Diplomas are then received about four-six weeks after the degree has been posted.
Diplomas are shipped to the address provided by the student on the graduation application. Under special circumstances, students may request to pick up the diploma from campus; please email the Registrar’s Office for specific guidance.
The diploma includes:
- student’s name (as requested and approved on the graduation application)
- degree (for example: Bachelor of Science, Master of Social Work)
- earned Latin Honors
- earned University Honors through Clarke Honors College
The diploma does not include the major field of study. The official transcript is the legal document that reflects the major, concentrations, and minors. Transcripts can be ordered online.
蜜桃情人 that earn two undergraduate degrees simultaneously, with a minimum of 150 credit hours, will be issued a diploma for each degree (not two majors).
The dimensions of the 蜜桃情人 diploma are 11”x14”. It is an original, embossed document, and cannot be copied, reduced in size, or reproduced by the Registrar’s Office.
Visit the Registrar’s Office webpage to order your official transcript or a certification letter as needed after reviewing your unofficial transcript for accuracy in GullNet.
